Maintenance Tips for High Mileage Vehicles near Catonsville, MD

Don’t worry if your automobile is reaching the 80,000-mile point! You can still get many years of driving out of it if you properly take care of it. Antwerpen Mitsubishi has prepared this overview of some maintenance tips for high mileage vehicles that you can follow to ensure your unit is set to last you many years to come and your investment is protected. Engine Care

If your vehicle has been driving for more than 80,000 miles, this means your engine has been through a level of strain. First, you need to deep clean the inside of your motor. You will need to flush the system of any old oil and has accumulated gunk and build-up over the years. Once it is empty, it will require high-mileage engine lubricant. This fluid is thicker and absorbs by-products from combustion differently than regular oil to ensure you’re taking care of your motor. This will inhibit any contact of metal gears and parts with each other and keep these parts from eroding improperly. 

Brake Services

Brake rotors should be replaced every 50,000 to 70,000 miles, which means that your system will need a replacement before you hit 80,000 miles driven. Brake pads have a shorter lifespan and should be changed every 10,000 to 20,000 miles. If you’re not changing out these items when recommended, you can be causing more strain on the overall system and putting yourself in danger with nonfunctional components. Your brakes also require fluid to work, and the system should be flushed and liquid replaced at the same time. Battery Care

Finally, a battery check and inspection will be in check. The battery powers your interior electrical components, such as your displays, climate control, and any ambient lighting that may be found within. If your battery is not fully functioning or it’s running low on charge, you will also be inhibited from turning on your automobile. Checking that the battery isn’t leaking acid and can retain charge properly will ensure you’re not stuck on the road or left stranded in a far-off town without any assistance. Schedule this service every four months to be on top of your car battery’s health.

I love how detailed the reports i get at every visit and service staff are always friendly. I don't like that my visits don't feel any different than any service station I've visited. I think I've just expected a dealership to feel more personalized AND be able to service my vehicle in a way that a nondealership could never. On my most recent visit, I wanted to address an issue. I received great response time and feedback from Jayson, my sales associate after inquiring about a vehicle online. While the vehicle that brought me to Antwerpen didn’t meet my needs, Jayson was patience and attentive to my needs and made a recommendation that made sense. I was shown a 2020 VW Atlas CrossTour with a CLEAN CarFax report. I purchased the vehicle and was in and out in a few hours. At the time of purchase I shared concern about the tires on the vehicle as there was unbalanced wear on front vs rear tires. I was told by the Sales Manager, Nemo, that the tires met inspection criteria. A few days later, after driving the vehicle I shared that there was front end vibration and that there was unreported damage/repair to the left driver’s side rear door which was NOT shared or reported on the CarFax report. Nemo said there was nothing they could do about it. Regarding the front end vibration, Service Manager Mark, acknowledged the unbalanced wear on the tires and offered to balance and rotate the tires to attempt to correct. Upon completion of service the vibration, still from the tire wear, moved from the front to the rear of the vehicle when driving. Sales manager/General Manager explained that because the tires passed inspection they could only offer to sell me discounted tires on a purchase I made with questionable tires. Between the tires/vibration and the INCORRECT CarFax report this was a very disappointing experience. I would not return to purchase or recommend Antwerpen Mitsubishi in Randallstown, MD.

Stopped in, was told I had approval, came back with my down payment ready for the car, just to be told I actually don’t have approval unless I get a smaller car that I explicitly said I did not want. Ran me around and wasted my time for 4 hours just to not actually be approved as said, I’m confused as to how I was even given a pencil if the numbers didn’t add up/approval. 2 days ago I went in to sell my outlander and was offered a price I said I couldn’t take and walked away. The next day the sales rep called me and said come in and we will take care of you at the price you want and I couldn’t make it yesterday so I called the manager Mitch and said I will come today and he said it’s fine. I walked in today both the sales rep and manager Mitch weren’t there and I was told we don’t buy cars at that price and etc it’s our policy. I’m very disappointed in the service I received. I really wish giving zero stars was an option. Everyone knows that they’re not a lot of Mitsubishi dealerships around so I called this location since it’s closer to me. I spoke with Charles who said he was the dealership manager. I explained to him that I keep getting a notification on my dashboard — “Airbag System Service Required” and I’m very concerned because I have a child and Mitsubishi has an active air bag recall on several cars (it was posted on the website). Charles said it was $ 180 for diagnostics. I said “$ 180 to check my air bags when there is a potential recall? He said “We don’t work for free” and “it’s probably because of the age of my car” WHAT? I’m not calling because I hear a strange noise or I have a slow leak in my tire!! This is an air bag issue which is a safety issue ESPECIALLY because I have a child!! How insensitive and rude!! This conversation was so disappointing and to get this type of customer service from someone who said he is the dealership manager is crazy!!!

The worst dealership I've ever experienced, HORRIBLE SERVICE MANAGEMENT, POOR COMMUNICATION. My car broke down in bmore ( from WV ) had triple A tow it to this dealership. Talked to service manager 2 times and explained what has happen when my car broke down and why its was towed to this place. I get a phone call from service manager telling me my car is fine and for me to come pick up. Go pick car up ( had a mechanic test drive car 1st with me in it ) and guess what car is not fine. Mechanic sees and hears what is wrong with it. Then tell me there is nothing that they can do because they are put of time. Mind you I got there at 2pm and sat there till 7:30 pm.
